Bracket weight reduction
- Challenge
- A commercial aerospace client needed a structural sensor-mount bracket lightened by 40%+ versus their existing CNC-machined aluminum part. Every gram saved compounds across a full production run — but the part still had to survive the same flight-certified load and vibration standards as the original.
- Solution
- Our engineers reworked the bracket's internal geometry from the ground up, removing material everywhere the load paths allowed it, and produced the final part in Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Nylon (PA-CF) for the stiffness-to-weight ratio the application demanded.
- Result
- 46% weight reduction versus the original design, with load-bearing performance that matched — and in testing, exceeded — the original part. Passed vibration testing.
Mill crane component, reverse-engineered
- Challenge
- A critical component on an overhead material-handling crane failed at a heavy industrial mill, halting production immediately. The original equipment manufacturer quoted a multi-week lead time for a replacement — with every day of downtime costing the plant real production.
- Solution
- We reverse-engineered the failed component directly from the damaged part — no drawings or CAD files from the OEM required — and produced a replacement in industrial-grade PA-CF, built to handle daily mill-floor impact and stress.
- Result
- Delivered and installed in under 48 hours, weeks ahead of the OEM's timeline. The part has been running under daily mill-floor stress ever since with zero failures.
